Welcome to National Park Quilts. We are Jack and Susan Davis, owners of Olde America Antiques in Bozeman, Montana. Olde America Antiques is a fine art printing company that specializes in printing on cloth for quilters. Our company was among the first to develop and perfect fine art printing on cloth. The prints we produce are 8-color giclee (zhee-CLAY) prints. This is a recently developed printing process that utilizes high resolution digital scanning and new, sophisticated inkjet technology to reproduce detailed, accurate images and artwork. The inks used are archival quality, resulting in colors that are brighter and longer lasting than prints made by traditional printing methods.
Susan and I have been in the postcard and antique business since 1988. We are members of the International Federation of Postcard Dealers and have collected national park postcards and ephemera for more than 30 years. Susan has quilted since she was a young girl, and in 2006 we decided to combine her love of quilting with our passion for collecting.
This web site will focus on national park quilt blocks. We have a link above to different national parks and the various quilt block sets we have developed on our Olde America Antiques web site. There is also a link above to all of the quilting patterns we offer to use with our quilt blocks. The patterns we currently have available include a quilted wall hanging, a quilted tote bag, quilted hot pads, a quilted pillowcase, and a kit for a quilted postcard. We will be adding more patterns as time permits. These patterns can be downloaded as PDF files from the link above.
The cloth we print on is high-quality cotton sateen fabric. Cotton sateen is soft and easy to quilt. Our quilt blocks are NOT TRANSFERS that are brittle and hard to sew. The quilt blocks we produce are available as singles or in sets. We currently have 1,200 quilt blocks available for 50 national parks and monuments. There are more than 5,000 total vintage images listed on the Olde America Antiques web site in a wide range of topics. Quilt blocks can be ordered in different sizes from 3”x5” up to 24”x32”.
One feature of this site, and other national park-related sites we will be developing, are articles that will be posted discussing various aspects of the history of national parks. The articles will contain information relating to postcards, ephemera, publishing companies, photographers, artists, the development of national parks, and various other subjects. There will be guest writers who will be sharing information with us about their collections. We will be adding other articles and editing the contents of this web site as time permits.
Olde America Antiques is a family business with a focus on quality and personal service. Satisfaction is guaranteed on all our products. We appreciate your interest and look forward to helping you however we can. Thank you!
